Frequently asked questions
For all questions relating to specific walks, we have an FAQ section on each walk itinerary.
Have another question about our walks? Please contact our team on (03) 6392 2211 or enquiries@taswalkingco.com.au.
- What shoes should you wear?
The terrain and surfaces for our walks vary hugely, with sand, scree, muddy tree-rooted track, rocky track, boardwalk, and landscaped stone paths being some of the types of surfaces you might walk on when on a trip with us. You might also be walking through snow one day, mud puddles the next, and a dry track on a sunny day the next! It is therefore super important to make good footwear choices that set you up for success. Have a read of our footwear guide to see what we recommend for each walk and why.
NOTE: Your guides will make the ultimate decision about whether your footwear is appropriate or safe for the trip you are walking on, so if you are bringing trail runners or footwear that is not weatherproof, you must also bring a pair of walking boots as your guides may ask you to wear these in event of severe weather or if other risk factors are present.

Our guides try not to crowd guests, but our guests' safety is always paramount. We also have an obligation to Parks to ensure that our guests walk on the track correctly and do not veer from the designated path.

Yes, all of our walks welcome single travellers. Rooms on most of our walks are twin-share, so you will be matched with another single traveller of the same gender. If you wish to guarantee a room to yourself, all of our walks have the option of a single supplement at an extra cost.
